Special Olympics Success

Gibraltar International Airport recently welcomed the return of the Gibraltar Special Olympics Swimming Team.

One of the members of the recent successful Special Olympics group of swimmers who took part in the Princess Charlene Swimming Meeting in Monaco was Malcolm Miel, who works at the Air Terminal. Malcolm, who is employed by the Support Employment Company, is a member of a small team who assist Gibraltar Air Terminal Ltd in the day-to-day running of the Terminal. He returned to Gibraltar with both a Bronze and a Silver medal.

His co-worker, Douglas Pitaluga, who has also enjoyed previous success in other Special Olympics swimming events and their supervisor, Joseph Pincho went out to meet the whole group on arrival. They were accompanied by Mr Caine Sanchez who sits on the Special Olympics Committee and Air Terminal Director, Terence Lopez, who is a committee member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
