easyJet launches new Bristol - Gibraltar route

easyJet, the UK’s largest airline will launch year round flights from Bristol to Gibraltar starting in Summer 2015. The airline, which already flies from London Gatwick to Gibraltar, will launch flights from Bristol on 19 April 2015.

This new service will open up Gibraltar as a new and exciting destination for the South West of England.

Commenting on the route announcement, Gibraltar Government Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port, the Hon. Neil Costa MP, said: “we are tremendously excited that easyjet has decided to launch a second route to Gibraltar. This service will not only promote tourism to Gibraltar in the South West, but, Gibraltar, forming part of the South West region of the UK with regards to European Parliamentary Elections, will create an even stronger bond via this direct service. This route is yet another testament to this Government’s unstinting efforts to increase air connectivity to the Rock. My team and I have worked very hard to secure this link and we are delighted to be able to deliver yet more opportunities to Gibraltar’s tourism, leisure and hospitality industry and open up more options for business and leisure travellers from Gibraltar and the UK. ”

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, said: “We’re really pleased to be introducing Gibraltar’s only direct air link to Bristol Airport meaning our passengers in Gibraltar can now travel straight into the city with ease, whether it be for business or leisure.” “With a year round service, affordable fares and flight time of just over two and a half hours, we’re confident that it will prove a popular service with passengers and will support the growth of tourism and business in both areas. We will have more than 19,000 seats available on the new service next summer alone.”

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and will go on sale on Thursday 06 November.
